Good morning, Shocker Nation. What a season opener it was for Shocker volleyball! Wichita State opened the season 2-1 at the Shocker Volleyball Classic, sweeping Stephen F. Austin on Friday before closing out the weekend with a sweep of Missouri State yesterday.

Sophomore Olivia Cohee announced herself in the opener, posting 10 kills, 10 digs, and three blocks in her debut as a starting six-rotation outside hitter, hitting at a 45-percent clip on 22 swings. Fellow sophomore Jenna Cubbage also notched 10 kills, and Maddie Wilson's six blocks anchored a defense that held the Southland Conference favorite to a .096 attack percentage.

🔼 Fall Ball. Wichita State baseball’s fall slate is set, and every bit of it happens at Eck Stadium. The Shockers open exhibition play Sept. 12 against Cowley College before welcoming Nebraska on Sept. 26 and Kansas City Kansas Community College on Oct. 3, all at 1 p.m. Seven open intrasquad scrimmages between Sept. 3 and Oct. 2 are free to the public, with start times varying between 2:30 and 3 p.m. The fall wraps with the annual Black & Yellow Fall World Series, a three-game set on Oct. 7, 8, and 10.

Wichita State softball has released its 2026 fall schedule, an eight-game slate with six exhibitions at Wilkins Stadium. The Shockers open Oct. 3 against McLennan Community College and welcome Oklahoma State, Rose State, and Emporia State to Wichita before heading to Kansas City for the KC Diamonds University Fall Classic on Oct. 17, with games against Missouri and the KC Diamonds at Legends Field. Murray State College and Johnson County Community College close things out at Wilkins Stadium on Oct. 24 and Oct. 25. Admission is just $5 at the gate for all home games.
