Today, Beverly has been working on his shot this offseason and Bracks' first weekend at the ITA National Summer Championships

Good morning! It was a Shocker Bowling reunion this weekend as a quartet of Shocker alumni competed at the PWBA Tour Pepsi Classic.

What else are we mixing into today’s edition of the Shocker Brew?

🌾 ONE BIG THING

The Wichita State volleyball team has announced the promotional schedule for the 2024 season. Single-match tickets for the home schedule are now available, featuring an exhibition against Kansas State and 11 regular season matches at Charles Koch Arena, eight of which will be AAC matches.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Tee Time. After qualifying for the leading amateur event in the United States earlier this year, Wichita State men's golf senior Michael Winslow is set to open play in the 124th U.S. Amateur today at Chaska Town Course. Winslow is slated to tee off on hole one at Chaska this afternoon with stroke play concluding after Tuesday’s round. From there, the 312-player field will but cut to the top 64 scores for match play.

🔼 Working On The Shot. Shocker men’s basketball’s Harlond Beverly, a 6-foot-5 senior guard, spent the summer refining his shooting form and expanding his range. He made 25.8 percent of his three-pointers last season, and that performance drove his workouts. He played well late in the season and showed the potential for more consistent scoring. In addition to scheduled practices over the summer, Beverly regularly worked on shooting and other skills in an early morning session. Mills said within a month after the season ended people told him Beverly's jumper had improved.

🗣️ "Whenever someone says you can't do something, or there's a knock on you, you want to eliminate all those doubts," he said. "I'm really focused on improving that aspect." - Harlond Beverly

🔼 How About Lunch? What’s better than enjoying some turkey while chatting it up with Shocker basketball? Fans can enjoy an early Thanksgiving-style meal and meet members of the men's and women's basketball teams, Friday, October 4, at the Shocker Basketball Tipoff Luncheon. Tickets are on sale now for $60 each, while Wichita State faculty and staff can purchase tickets for $30. A table of 10 can also be purchased for $500.
