🥎 Softball announces 2024 fall schedule
🏀 Men’s basketball is picking up the pace
🌾 And much, much more!
🌾 ONE BIG THING
Fall ball is back! Wichita State softball has finalized a 2024 fall softball schedule that includes five home dates at Wilkins Stadium.
Fall play opens with a doubleheader on Sept. 14 vs. McLennan Community College and a 10-inning contest the following day against Murray State College. Wichita State will make one road trip, a drive up the turnpike to Lawrence to face Kansas in a doubleheader on Sept. 27. Admission for all games at Wilkins Stadium is $5 at the gate.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Summer Standouts. This summer, Shocker baseball’s student-athletes have honed their craft and helped lift their respective summer league teams with their stellar play this offseason.
⚾️ Ryan Callahan finished fourth in the Alaska Baseball League in batting average (.311) and third in RBI (30) where helped his team win the ABL championship.
⚾️ Jaden Gustafson hit .391 at the plate during the regular season with the Hutchinson Monarchs while leading hte Jayhawk League in home runs (4) and RBI (32).
🔼 Fast Paced. Wichita State men’s basketball’s roster is stocked with experienced players accustomed to playing significant minutes and in significant games. The team knows how practices operate, and they know the expectations. The adjustment period between coaches and players is in the past for many Shockers. Over summer workouts ended in late July, which meant strong competition with evenly matched teams and drills.
🗣️ "It's a lot faster-paced. We're competing for minutes. There are more guys here that that's their nature. Really competitive guys." - Ronnie DeGray III, forward
