Good morning! Shocker cross country is hitting the ground running as they prepare for the start of the 2024 season.

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Wichita State men's golf released the Shockers' tournament slate for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The Shockers enter the year after ending the 2023-24 campaign with their best-ever finish at the AAC Championship, finishing in third place, and breaking almost every team record related to score in their history at the Championship in the process.

The 2024 fall season for the Shockers begins at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational September 9-10 in Illinois and will end the fall by hosting the third annual Grier Jones Shocker Invitational October 6-8, where the Shockers have won back-to-back titles. In the spring, the Shockers begin with a second straight international trip to Cancun, Mexico to play in the Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate at Playa Paraiso Golf Club February 2-4.

🔼 Hang The Banner. Following the team’s NIVC Championship victory, the Shockers will open the 2024 season by lifting a banner to commemorate the title-winning team. Wichita State volleyball will unveil the banner before the August 24 exhibition match against Kansas State inside the Charles Koch Arena.

🔼 Let The Bidding Begin. New to this year's Black and Yellow Gala, anyone and everyone can bid on silent auction items through our online auction portal. Silent auctions close between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. this Saturday, August 17.

🔼 For Sale. Wichita State Athletics is hosting its annual garage sale on Saturday, Sept. 28. Fans are invited to stop by the garage sale from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. inside the Aetna Multi-Purpose Facility. Items are available on a first-come, first-served basis and include jerseys and uniforms, shoes, and much more!

🔼 The Roundhouse Podcast. Shocker women’s basketball head coach Terry Nooner is entering his second season as women's basketball coach at Wichita State, and the head honcho stopped by to update fans on summer practices and the team’s exhibition tour of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Plus, Nooner talks about adding athletic ability and height to the roster, a faster style of play and the energy and hard work that guard Taylor Jameson and forward Jayla Murray have put in this offseason.
