🔼 Prime Time. National TV alert! Shocker volleyball’s match against the SMU Mustangs will be available for the nation to see on ESPNU on October 1st. Their nationally televised competition in Dallas will be the second leg of a two-game series against the Mustangs.

Last season, the Shockers split the two games played against the Mustangs, and historically, the series between these two teams is tied at seven apiece. Speaking of history, the last time WSU played on ESPNU was last season against this SMU team, and the Shockers came out on top in a thrilling five-set victory.

🔼 Setting Up For Success. Wichita State Athletics’ purpose is to benefit and support all Shocker student-athletes, and with recent changes to the organization, Wichita State is in a position to improve on all fronts.

The athletics program has reorganized the structure of the administrative staff, shifted around several staff and title promotions, and appointed new day-to-day sport administrator assignments. This new structure will more affectively promote collaboration, operational efficiency, and accountability to achieve WSU’s desired results.

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Shocker volleyball will take to the court at Charles Koch Arena for an exhibition match against Oklahoma. It will be the last game before the real season begins next week.

Although the result of the game won’t matter in terms of the win/loss column, it will provide the squad a taste of what to expect come August 25th for the true beginning of the season when Shocker volleyball travels to Lubbock, Texas, to play in the Under Armour Challenge.
