Today, women’s golf releases 2024-25 schedule and a quick change in the middle

Good morning! It was a night to remember as Shocker Athletics celebrated the start of the athletic year at the Black and Yellow Gala.

What else are we mixing into today’s edition of the Shocker Brew?

⛳️ Women’s golf releases 2024-25 schedule
🏐 A quick change in the middle
🌾 And much, much more!

🌾 ONE BIG THING

In his 18th season as the leader of Shocker women’s golf, head coach Tom McCurdy finalized the team’s tournament schedule for the 2024-25 season. The Shockers begin the new season with a short trip to Manhattan, Kansas where they will play in The Powercat Invitational September 9-10. The team will then play three more tournaments in the fall, concluding with the Diamante Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Arkansas, before breaking for the winter.

🗣️ "I'm really excited for this year's schedule. We're playing in several new to us events and events we haven't played in for a very long time. Our strength of schedule this year compared to previous years is very strong." - Tom McCurdy

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 First Look. Softball season may be months into the future, but the roster heading into the 2025 season is set for another run at the AAC title. Check out the official Shocker softball roster and which numbers each of the girls will be rocking on the back of the jersey.

🔼 Perfect Match. Wichita State volleyball’s Sarah Barham, a 6-foot-1 transfer from Wofford University, brings four seasons of experience, four seasons of All-Southern Conference honors and an agility that complements how setter Izzi Strand works. She uses her legs to compete against taller opponents. Wichita State's traditional heavy reliance on middles for points and its quick sets fit her perfectly.

🗣️ "I don't like waiting, so it was definitely exciting when I was getting recruited to hear that's what they were looking for. It's been exciting to see just how fast we can go." - Sarah Barham
