After a long road that included overcoming a challenging year of injuries, former Wichita State track and field sprinter Paula Garcia has punched her ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics with Team Spain. Garcia will compete for her country in the 400m relay from August 8-9 on the world’s biggest stage.

During her time as a Shocker, Garcia was named All-Conference twice (2019, 2022), competed in the NCAA West Prelim Qualifiers and set two school records: one in the Indoor 200m (23.61) and another in her Olympic event, the Outdoor 4×400m relay.

🔼 Mad House. Get ready for some Shocker Madness! Shocker Madness is set for Saturday, October 5th at 6:30 p.m., and this year's event will once again be a part of Wichita State's Shocktoberfest Homecoming & Family Week. 🔼 Quarter Century. Heading into the 2024 Shocker Volleyball season will mark Chris Lamb’s 25th season as the program’s head coach. Throughout his incredible career, Lamb has amassed 508 wins, 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and has a career .683 winning percentage.

🔼 The Roundhouse Podcast. Wichita State golfer Michael Winslow is getting set to play in the prestigious U.S. Amateur Championship from Aug. 12-18 at Hazeltine National Golf Club. Winslow won the Kansas Amateur in July in Topeka, part of a summer that included winning the Kansas City Amateur and advanced to the semifinals of the Missouri Amateur.

On the latest episode of the Roundhouse Podcast, the crew talks about his mental game that is fueling his hot streak and what he learned playing in the 2022 U.S. Amateur. They also discuss how to prepare for Hazeltine, what it means to add his name to the list of Kansas Amateur champions and his advice for young golfers.
