🔼 Schedule Release. The official schedule for Shocker cross country is set for the 2023 season ahead of the team’s first event smack dab in the middle of Wichita. WSU will race in five different events, including the 75th annual JK Gold Classic, before heading into conference championship play.
🔼 Coaching Pro. Tennis pro turned coach, Chad Kissell, is joining the Shockers’ men’s tennis staff as its newest assistant coach of the future.
🗣️ “It’s going to be great having someone with his experience as a part of our program.” - Head Coach Darragh Glavin
Coach Kissell played collegiate tennis as recently as 2017 where he was named as a two-time Horizon League First Team-er. Even more recently however, Kissell competed in the ITF Men’s Circuit and climbed to a world ranking of 967.
🔼 Dear Shocker Nation… Athletic Director Kevin Saal penned a letter to WSU fans as student-athletes returned to campus ahead of the 2023-24 athletic year. Read his letter that addresses academics, goals, and exciting things happening at Wichita State in the immediate future.
🤔 SHOCKER TRIVIA
All-Conference. In addition to Kelly’s selection to the Preseason All-Conference Team, which other Shocker volleyball player was named to the team?
Hint! This player was named a First-Team All-Conference player last season.

🌾 ONE BIG THING
Shocker fans, we have an all-star on the court.
Outside hitter Brylee Kelly was named as the AAC’s Preseason Co-Player of the Year, and was only one of two unanimous Preseason All-Conference Team selections.
Last season, Kelly lead the Shockers with 3.27 kills per set, 0.27 aces per set, and 3.82 points per set. If you’re keeping track, that’s a lot of production from just one player on the court. The Shockers are picked to finish third in the AAC’s West Division, but with Kelly on the court, climbing to that No. 1 spot is certainly attainable.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: Natalie Foster!
Foster is one of the most efficient scorers out of the middle after ranking 31st in the nation last year with a .382 hitting percentage. Easy to see why she was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team!
🌾 Have a great Wednesday, y’all!
