🌾 And much, much more!

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Wichita State Volleyball opens its 49th season as an NCAA volleyball program with a trip to Kennesaw, Georgia for the Kennesaw State Invitational. The Shockers will sandwich a pair of matches against Kennesaw State around a single showdown with Indiana, a team receiving votes in the initial AVCA top 25 poll. The Shockers enter the tournament off a 26-8 season in 2023 that culminated in a dominant run to the NIVC championship, the program's first national postseason championship.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Went The Distance. Wichita State's Josh Parrish represented Team USA in the long jump at the World Athletics U20 Championships. The Shocker sophomore placed 22nd with a jump of 7.21m/23'7.75" in the first round of the long jump competition. Parrish is the first Wichita State student-athlete since Taran Taylor and Rayvon Allen in 2017 to qualify for the World U20 Championships.

🔼 Talking ‘Bout Practice. Shocker Nation is invited to get a sneak peek at WSU men’s basketball in an open practice on September 17 at 4 p.m. Come out and support the team while also getting an inside look at how the Shockers operate during practice, as well as information on season ticket opportunities.

🔼 The Roundhouse Podcast. Wichita State volleyball assistant coaches Katie Zimmerman and Ashleigh Houlton join the show to preview the season. The crew talks about the scrimmage against Kansas State, their thoughts on the AAC adopting a conference tournament and the rule change on double hits. We also discuss newcomer Sarah Barham and her play as a middle blocker, Emerson Wilford’s increasing role in the offense and Morgan Stout’s rise as a scorer in the middle.
