🔼 Ready To Work. Shocker men’s golf added some coaching reinforcements with the hire of its newest assistant coach, Cole Elmore. He joins the WSU golf team after spending a year as a grad assistant for DIII North Central College.

🗣️ “He’s going to come in ready to go with a great ability to mesh with the guys and be a leader quickly.” - Head coach Judd Easterling

Coach Elmore has NCAA golf experience of his own as he played at the collegiate level at Lewis University where in his senior year, acted as both a interim head coach and player. This guy can do it all.

🔼 Welcome Back. There’s nothing like the feeling of the first practice of a new season, and Shocker track and field got to experience that incredible feeling earlier this week. The newcomers still have time to get prepared for the season opener with the first competition coming later this December.

🔼 Pro Status. Three former Shocker softball student-athletes have successfully completed their rookie and sophomore campaigns for the 2023 season.

🥎 Sydney McKinney, in her first year as a pro, took the field for 12 games where she accumulated six hits across multiple teams with Athletes Unlimited.

🥎 Zoe Jones and Neleigh Herring completed their seasons together on the Florida Vibe in the Florida Gulf Coast League where they combined for 35 hits and seven home runs.

🔼 Jam the Gym. Are you a fan of t-shirts? Are you also a fan of volleyball? If you answered yes to both these questions, boy do we have an event for you!

Join Shocker volleyball for their matchup September 7th against Kansas in the Charles Koch Arena, and the first 1,000 fans get a free t-shirt on the house! Sounds like one heck of a deal.

🌾 ONE BIG THING

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of longtime track and field coach Pat Wilson. Coach Wilson, in his time with Wichita State, coached six NCAA All-Americans, seven conference champions, and 18 all-conference athletes.

🗣️ “Coach Pat Wilson was such an integral part of Shocker track and field for the last 16 years and is a gentleman that was loved universally by athletes through Wichita State track and field program for all event areas.” - Director of Track and Field Steve Rainbolt
