Good morning, Shocker Nation. One of Wichita State's own got the ultimate honor at the US Open on Wednesday. Nick Taylor, director of operations for Shocker men's tennis and a Wichita native, was inducted into the Wheelchair Tennis Hall of Champions, introduced this year to mark the 50th anniversary of wheelchair tennis.

Taylor's résumé is stacked: three Paralympic doubles gold medals, 11 Grand Slam titles, and 11 Masters doubles wins alongside partner David Wagner. He's been part of the Wichita State program for more than two decades, first joining as an intern in 2004.

Rackets at the ready! Wichita State men's tennis has its 2026 fall slate, and it starts big with the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa Sept. 19-27. The Shockers head to Stillwater for the Cowboy Classic in early October before a busy stretch that includes the ITA Central Region Championships in Lincoln, the PTT Norman, and the American Conference Individual Championships in Houston. November brings ITA Sectionals in Rome, Ga., and the ITA Conference Masters in Waco. Those who qualify close out the fall at the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships in Athens, Ga., Nov. 17-22.

🔼 First Road Win. Wichita State volleyball broke through away from Koch Arena on Friday, beating reigning ASUN regular season champ Florida Gulf Coast 3-1 to open the Mizzou Tournament. Maddie Wilson was everywhere in that one, posting a match-high 13 kills on .440 hitting plus a career-high-tying 10 blocks for 18.5 points. The Shockers dominated at the net with 13.5 team blocks to FGCU's 5.5. Saturday proved tougher, with four-set and three-set losses to Arkansas State and host Missouri, though Wichita State battled back from a five-point hole to steal the second set from the Red Wolves.

The Shockers return home tomorrow night for a rematch with No. 22 Kansas at 6 p.m. Tickets here.
