They “Rained” Supreme. Wichita State continued its strong season with another top-five team finish, placing third at Missouri's Johnie Imes Invitational on Tuesday. Heavy rain canceled the tournament's final round midway through, reverting scores to totals after the first two rounds.
Wichita State topped Missouri State—one of the few teams to beat the Shockers this season—by seven strokes. The team also improved to 2-0 against American Athletic Conference opponents, finishing 23 strokes ahead of UAB.
Mackenzie Wilson led the Shockers once again, tying for fifth, the highest individual finish by a Shocker this season. The Shockers now have more individual top-20 finishes this year than they did all of last season.
