Shocker Brew 3/20: We're Ranked!

See what ranking the women's tennis team has in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Poll.

Good morning! Mark your calendars because, for the second year, Wichita State will show off its unique cultural and educational assets while welcoming the community to campus during Open Streets ITC on April 14. Here are the details.

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Ranked! The women’s tennis team entered the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Poll for the first time this season! The Shockers are ranked 55th. This is the highest ranking for the team since 2019. The women defeated two ranked opponents last week and look to pick up some more wins as they are back in action on March 30.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Runner-Up. The men’s golf team competed in the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate and dominated. The Shockers tabbed second place as a team with a score of 841 (-11). Blake Lorenz tied for third place in the individual standings. He shot 207 (-6). Aston Castillo tied for 10th, hitting a 210 (-3).

🔼 First! The American Athletic Conference named Xin Tong Wang Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. Wang is the first Player of the Week selection in the program since 2021. She went 6-2 in matches overall last week, competing at No. 2 doubles and No. 2 singles.
